The Ashley Madison hack was a big deal and has effects for not just the people on and their family's but for everyone. In society this means that nothing is private. This was supposed to be a highly secure affair site but instead all of its customers information is all over the web. Now the people on the site will have to explain to your significant other why. This incident will cause a lot of divorces and splits of family and even kids. This effects me, and any person not on the site because it shows that nothing is private on the internet. Privacy means safe from everybody and only you or a few people you trust know. This just does not exsits online anymore. To protect yourself from getting hacked you just don't go online.
